The only way you can get garlic is to plant garlic cloves at the Crossroads. You can find garlic cloves while exploring the surface city of Ephyra. You can spot dirt mounds around the city that you can dig up with your silver spade to get garlic cloves. But you won’t survive up on the surface without the Unraveling a Fateful Bond incantation. This too requires an item found on the surface called Moss, so try to prioritize getting moss and crafting this incantation before you can run around and find garlic cloves
Once you get garlic cloves, take it to your plotting soil and plant it. Once they are ready, you would also need 2x Nectar to craft the Rite of Social Solidarity. And with that, you can unlock the Tavern and use it to collect one of the relationship gifts, Ambrosia.
