The Improved Fin is an enhancement in Subnautica 2 that can increase your speed while you’re moving underwater throughout the game. For players to obtain the Improved Fin blueprint, they’ll need to find and scan three individual fragments hidden throughout the alien tower area. Here’s how you can find all three locations for the Improved Fin blueprint.
Reach the Alien Tower Area and Find the First Fragment
The Improved Fins blueprint is located approximately 1,300 meters east of the life pod. To find it, first go to the large alien tower, then go to the edge of the tower and look down to locate an abandoned area. Continue by heading slightly lower until you come across the first Improved Fins fragment. You will need to scan the first fragment to start unlocking the blueprint.
Locating the Second & Third Fragment
You will find the second fragment located very close to the first one. Continue moving along the path and head straight until you reach the point where you’ll find the second blueprint.
To find the last Improved Fins fragment, go northeast from the last Improved Fins location until you reach another alien structure. Once you reach this structure, you will also find the final fragment sitting on the alien object. This last fragment will also be deeper than 250 meters below sea level, so if you do not have a depth module installed, you will need to exit your vehicle and swim the remaining distance manually.
Upon scanning the three fragments, you will then receive the Improved Fins blueprint, which you can use for increasing your speed underwater.
