Psychosis is one of them. This is not a new effect introduced in this game; instead, players who have played the previous games of this franchise may remember seeing it there.
Psychosis is a mental state where players lose their vision and start hallucinating and haunting by Skinner Man. It is a dangerous state, and if you are not sure how it inflicts on you, let me tell you it is caused by inhaling poisonous gas. Environmental Traps on doors, Gas Mines, and Lockboxes release these Poisonous gas that will start draining your sanity and triggering Psychosis. However, these affect the sanity gradually, but if you encounter a Pusher and are somehow grabbed by him, he will spray the Poisonous gas on your face triggering Psychosis immediately. So, whenever you get hints of Pusher approaching, find a place to hide.

Psychosis can be cured by using Antidote. Using an Antidote will cure the Status effect completely and restore health. If you have one in your inventory, use it immediately; otherwise, you have to find one. Generally, Antidotes are found inside First-aid kits, cabinets, etc., or you can pick them up from fallen NPCs. However, while looking for the antidotes, try to outrun the Skinner Man; though it is challenging, you must do it if you want to survive.
