The Basic Battery is one of the first and most important items you will need in Subnautica 2. It is used to craft essential tools like the Scanner and powers many devices you will rely on throughout the game. While the recipe is simple, the game does not clearly explain where to find the required materials. In this guide, we will show you how to gather Copper and Acidic Rayon Pouches and craft a Basic Battery.
How to Craft a Basic Battery
You can also craft a Basic Battery using the Fabricator inside your Lifepod. To craft one Basic Battery, you need:
- 2 Copper
- 1 Acidic Rayon Pouch
Once you have these materials, go to your Fabricator and open: Resources > Electronics > Basic Battery. Select the recipe, and the battery will be crafted instantly.
How to Get Copper
You will be able to collect Copper from the cave system that is located below the Lifepod. After leaving your initial Lifepod, dive under it and then look for the entrance to the small cave system underwater. The caves here are some of the best places where you can collect copper. Be sure to check both the cave’s ceiling and walls, as there are deposits of copper here.
How to Get Acidic Rayon Pouch
The Acidic Rayon plants are easily recognisable due to their shining, luminescent purple and pink colours. They are visible at a considerable distance even while swimming. The part that must be harvested from the plants is the brain-like pouches hanging on the margins of the plant. Use your Survival Multi-Tool to remove the pouches from the plants, one by one, to get your Acidic Rayon Pouches.
