Taking down the Dark Heart in Black Ops 7 Zombies can be difficult at first, with all the different phases and enemies. But once you understand how the fight works and go in with the right setup, it becomes much easier to fight. This guide will tell you everything, from the best loadout to use to each phase of the boss fight.
Best Loadout to Beat The Dark Heart
M34 Novaline is a marksman rifle that is very powerful after upgrading it in the Pack-a-Punch. The gun gets full automatic fire and deals serious damage to the zombies. To get even more out of it, use the Brain Rot ammo mod. It can turn enemies to your side and give you some breathing room in tough situations. Here are the augmentations that could prove effective in this match:
- Armour Plates / Equipment – these add-ons provide additional protective gear
- PhD Augmentations – protect from the effects of gas bombs
- Deadshot Boosts – help with landing critical hits
- Extra item-dropping/ distraction abilities can be useful for defending from zombie attacks
Make sure to bring Kazmirs and Molotov cocktails, both are useful when it comes to defence phases. For field upgrades, try Aether Shroud if you want to escape from zombies. Another choice to consider is Frenzied Guard if you prefer to survive in this game. Gobblegums are optional, so just use whatever helps you the most.
How to Beat The Dark Heart

At the start, you’ll see three piles (in both backyards and near the street). You would just have to kill some zombies in order to make them charged. Upon completing that step, an orb would spawn on one of those relics, and you’ll enter a defence phase.
- Use Brain Rot to turn opponents into allies
- Pack along with yourself, Monkey Bombs and Kazmirs to manipulate opponents
- Use Aether Shroud if you find yourself trapped
Defend the relic until the clock runs out. After defending three relics, the boss becomes vunerable to damage.
- Shoot the glowing weak spots
- Keep moving to avoid attacks like explosives and fire tornadoes
A safe strategy is to loop around the map and only shoot when crossing the middle. At a point in the game, the boss would become immune to further attacks.
This time, you’ll be dealing with the yellow portals. Shoot the portal and kill the zombies linked to it. It is better if it’s done slowly and precisely. Assign one player to focus on these portals, and the others should keep the other zombies busy. You’ll have to repeat two more phases.

In the final phase, a tortured zombie spawns in the middle. Lead him to each of these piles, and once he connects to them, kill him. You have to do the same with all three spots. In the end, you’ll be facing your final defence phase, followed by the last damage phase. Take down the boss, and you’re done.
