Genshin Impact Version 3.3 will release Faruzan– the first dedicated Anemo buffer but what does it entail for the Anemo meta? Anemo has always been a broken element in the grand scheme of things but Faruzan will come and further buff Anemo- especially Anemo DPS. Read on to find out what implications she might have because it’s already been done before and we’ll tell you how.
Faruzan in the Anemo Meta in Genshin Impact
Faruzan will be the dedicated Anemo DPS buffer similar to Gorou for Geo and Sara for Electro. Both Gorou and Sara are very niche units that buff DPS characters of their respective element. Faruzan will be in the same category of niche buffers as she will pertain to Anemo.
Anemo is unlike any other element because it heavily relies on Elemental Mastery for powerful Swirls- which in turn require other elements in the party. Anemo DPS characters however don’t necessarily utilise Swirls so the only Anemo set in the game- Viridescent Venerer, which shreds Anemo RES and increases Swirl and Anemo DMG, has not been optimum for these characters.
Viridescent Venerer has thus been used on support Anemo units like Venti, Sucrose, Sayu and even Jean. The new artifact set- Desert Pavilion Chronicle is thus specifically built for Anemo DPS units like Xiao or Heizou and of course the Wanderer. It can even be used on an Anemo DPS Jean. This set has no support uses frankly it may already be a bit late for its release in 3.3 as Xiao and Heizou are already plenty strong without it.
With Xiao and Wanderer equipping this new set going forward, Faruzan fills the role of the Viridescent Venerer in that her kit also shreds Anemo RES and buffs Anemo teammates. So while Faruzan may not have been a necessary unit like Gorou was to the Geo element, she still changes the game like Sara does for Electro DPS units like Raiden or Yae Miko.
With Faruzan on your team and this artifact set on your Anemo DPS, you can expect to see a huge bump in numbers- at least according to theory. Since Xiao is already one of the best DPS units in the game without these buffers, it’s scary to think what he might be capable of after Version 3.3. Players will still have to grind ages to get those perfect artifacts before they can hold a candle to Xiao’s previous builds which have already been refined and min-maxed for a long time.
