How to Start the Homesick Side Quest in Valor Mortis
In order to begin the Homesick Side Quest in Valor Mortis, one has to go to the Last Sunlight Lantern, which is located in the Caverns. Proceeding from there eastward along the cave, one should look for the blue memory.
Behind the memory, there is a letter sent by a wife to her husband where she mentions that she and her family await her husband’s coming back home. Having read the letter, William decides to explore the caverns in order to learn more about the missing man and whether he abandoned his family or not.
How to Complete the Homesick Side Quest
Once you have collected the letter, move ahead through the cave till you find yourself standing in a huge room full of enemies. Make sure you keep to the left as you advance into the room. You will find that there are a number of holes all over the floor.
In order to find the right hole, you have to move towards the end of the room, where you will see a torch lying on the floor. The hole next to the torch is the hole that you must enter. Fall from the hole into the next room, where you will find the blue memory. You will see some boats in the water here. Jump across the boats to reach the opposite side.
Once you reach there, defeat the enemies that await here. After defeating them all, look towards the right to find a blue grapple point. Grapple it to get to the other side, then continue exploring to find the next letter. The letter will tell you the story of what has happened to the missing father.
After finding out about this story, William decides to send the last message from the father to his family members. To complete the quest, go back to the place where you found the wife at the beginning. Talk to her to complete the Homesick quest in Valor Mortis and get the Bottomless Well Amber as a reward.
