Operations mode in Space Marine 2 is the best for players who don’t want to quit the game. It includes six missions that can be replayed, with different mixes of enemies and obstacles popping up each time you play. The difficulty can get really extreme on the highest settings. If you are looking for an actual test of your skill and want to fight off endless waves of invaders from Chaos and Tyranid, then Operations is the way to go.
Some missions in Operations mode are more demanding than others in Space Marine 2. Knowing which mission is the easiest will go a long way in comfortably earning rewards and leveling your character. In this way, one can play repeatedly to get stronger faster and unlock new abilities, weapons, and customization options.
6. Inferno
You’re a Space Marine fighting off a huge Tyranid invasion on the planet Kadaku. Your job is to help Lieutenant Titus by stopping the Tyranids from moving forward. You’ll do this by setting up a trap to ambush them and wipe out as many as possible. Even though you won’t be able to completely defeat the Tyranids, you need to hold them off long enough for the Ultramarines to blow up a promethium refinery. This will create a massive explosion that will help the Ultramarines escape and set up a new ambush.
Inferno is a large, open map that allows for plenty of space to take on the Tyranids without overcrowding. Objectives are somewhat straightforward, but it can get tricky trying to keep the Tyranids off of the generators. The map does have a few nice traps and plenty of open areas, though, making this a fast and easy mission to complete.
5. Decapitation
A giant swarm of Tyranids is attacking the Astropathic Relay on Avarax. The Ultramarines have to go to the surface and plant explosives on a bridge. They need to blow up the bridge to kill the Hive Tyrant, the leader of the Tyranids. If they don’t, the Tyranids will keep attacking the planet.
Planting the explosives won’t be easy as there are lots of Tyranids attacking you. If you work quickly with your team, you’ll be able to do this before too many get to you. The real challenge will be the boss fight with the Hive Tyrant. This thing is extremely strong and can hit hard, but he can be taken down if you can successfully dodge his attacks and use your best abilities. It contains two phases, but beating the boss fight is possible with appropriate strategies.
4. Fall of Atreus
The Thousand Sons have built a huge tower that’s blocking the Ultramarines from getting to Aurora. The Ultramarines who are still on Aurora need to come up with a crazy plan to defeat the Thousand Sons quickly. They’re going to try to ram the tower with an old, broken spaceship called the Sword of Atreus.
You and two other players have to fight through Chaos enemies to get to an old, broken spaceship called the Sword of Atreus. The mission isn’t too difficult, and you’ll follow a pretty straightforward path. You’ll have to deal with some Chaos enemies, but not too many. You’ll also have to protect a special energy source called a fusion core. The fusion core is easy to move and can’t be damaged by the enemies.
3. Ballistic Engine
In the sixth Operation, you’ll fight against Tyranids on the planet Avarax. You’ll need to go to a nearby Astra Militarum depot to get a special weapon called a Nova Cannon Warhead. The Warhead can be used on a train to attack the Tyranids and weaken their forces.
This mission won’t be easy, but it’s not the toughest one. Sometimes, sandstorms will blow across the map and make it hard to see. This can make it easier for Tyranids to surprise you. You’ll have to fight through hordes of Tyranids as you travel through the railyards. You’ll also have to protect and escort a train to its final destination.
2. Vox Liberatis
The communication channels in and around Astropathic Relay in Avarax have been jammed. The Ultramarines are supposed to find out who does that between the Tyranids and the Chaos forces. They have got to destroy the source of the jamming and repair the communications, and a huge battle will be engaged among the Ultramarines, the Tyranids, and the Chaos forces in this mission.
Vox Liberatis is a tough mission because there are lots of enemies to fight. You’ll face both Tyranids and Chaos, which can be tricky because they’re different types of enemies. The mission is also long, and most of the objectives require you to capture and hold certain points. This can be boring, as you’ll have to stand still and defend a location.
1. Reliquary
The Chaos forces are gathering on the planet Aurora, and the Ultramarines need to stop them. They have to go to Demerium and destroy a special beacon that the Chaos forces have set up. The beacon is powering a portal that’s allowing more Chaos forces to come through. The Ultramarines will have to fight their way through Chaos forces, including a dangerous flying creature called a Helldrake, to destroy the beacon.
Reliquary is a difficult mission where you’ll have to fight through the catacombs of a graveyard planet. This mission is long and full of dangerous Chaos enemies. Later in the mission, you’ll have to run and dodge attacks from a Helldrake, a powerful flying creature. You’ll then have to fight the Helldrake in a tough battle that can set the whole area on fire.
