Players who have purchased their Resident Evil 4 Remake keys from Green Man Gaming are expected to get them at a much later time post-release. Green Man Gaming was supposed to release the keys at the same time as the launch of Resident Evil 4 Remake. But now, players who have preordered the game have received an email from the eCommerce portal. The email stated that the keys will be rolled out four hours later.
According to the notice, Green Man Gaming has stated players who are residing outside the USA, Canada, and Latin America will face this issue.
“As you may be aware, Capcom has announced a staggered release for Resident Evil 4 which means it is due to be released in select regions at the local equivalent time of 00:00 GMT. However, due to technical circumstances outside of our control, we will be unable to distribute keys until 04:00 GMT.”
Players will still receive the product they have paid for with the key, and they will face no further repercussions other than waiting out the delay. The cause of the delay is not disclosed, but players have speculated that it was because of the lack of preload option from Capcom’s side.
To mitigate the wait time, Green Man Gaming has offered a 2% discount via said email for players to redeem on their next purchase. The eCommerce portal is a popular destination for players to order games with better deals than the retail price. But there were a few hiccups of non-responsive keys in recent times. That didn’t stop their growing popularity over the years, and it still remains one of the leading sources for latest gaming keys.
