What Happens If You Kill Shrike?
To find a place to sleep while completing the “A Roof Over My Head” quest, you’ll need to head to New Camp and talk to Gorn. To do this, go to the right side after entering New Camp, and you will find Gorn leaning against the wall.
Once you talk to Gorn and ask him for a place to sleep, he will explain that the only house available is already being used by Shrike. Now, head to the opposite side of New Camp and you will find Shrike fixing up the house. Once you ask Shrike if you can sleep there, he will refuse your request.
To proceed with this quest successfully, beat up Shrike until he has fallen to the ground. After that, you can choose to kill or spare him. Please note that killing Shrike once he is unconscious will result in the quest failing which means you will not be able to complete it successfully, nor will you receive Gorn’s 200 experience points as reward.
Why You Should Spare Shrike
If you spare Shrike after he becomes unconscious, then you are free to loot his belongings before he wakes up. After you’ve gathered everything from him, you will need to return to Gorn and inform him that the work has been completed. Finishing the quest gives you 200 experience points.
Loot Shrike Before Leaving
When you return to Gorn, do not forget to check the inventory of Shrike. One of the most significant things that Shrike has in his inventory is called the Sting Mace, which is described as one of the strongest weapons to be acquired in the early stages of the game.
In addition to the Sting Mace, Shrike will also have other various useful items that can be helpful:
- Rider’s Bow
- Healing Items
- Lockpicks
- Arrows
- Ore Nuggets
- Food
- Other valuable equipment
All these supplies can be used in the early stages of this game.
