In the Gothic 1 Remake’s the Dam Lurker quest, you will need to assist Homer in saving the New Camp dam from being destroyed by a lurking creature that is destroying the dam’s foundation. To complete this task you must find the unwanted animal at the end of the lake and then kill him. You must also avoid any wolves that are in the area. When you have completed these two tasks you will be able to return to Homer and finish the quest.

Find Homer at the Dam

The Dam Lurker quest will take place in the New Camp. From where you are, go north through the rice fields until getting to a dam that looks like a bridge. There you will find Homer who is concerned about a lurker harming the base of the dam.

Homer states that the animal is chewing away at the underwater rocks on the bottom side of the barrier, and that if it continues, it will destroy all of the support for the dam. Speak with him about the situation and accept the mission to eliminate the creature.

Locate and Kill the Lurker

To locate the lurker, you will need to go across the lake and then backtrack past the dam. You want to take the left path after going back a little. Follow this road and there are going to be wolves out there waiting for you while you move about in this area, so, be careful.

Travel along the path leading to the spot where you will find the area where the Lurker would appear most often on shore. It is advised that you use a bow to create an effective weapon against the Lurker as it could take up to 25 arrows before you will be able to defeat the creature.

Return to Homer and Complete the Quest

Now, after you have killed the lurker, you can go back to Homer and inform him of your victory. He will express gratitude toward you and mention that he will request additional assistance from the Rice Lord for the purpose of repairing the dam. You’ll receive experience points for finishing this quest.
