In Genshin Impact 6.7, you can either decide to Execute Project Moongazer or Refuse to Take The Risk during the Project Moongazer World Quest. You might now wonder how the decision will have an effect on how the story plays out or quest progression. In this article, we will explain what each option does and if your choices are consequential in any way.
When Does This Choice Appear?

During the Project Moongazer World Quest, players will have the opportunity to engage in dialogues with options that could affect the quest outcomes. Here, one of the choices enables you to continue on Project Moongazer or not risk moving ahead. Players will be able to select an option based upon how they wish to pursue this mission, ultimately both choices will lead you through the same quest progression.
What Happens if You Execute Project Moongazer?
When you select “I agree,” you are maintaining your involvement in discussing how serious it could be when communicating Ninnin’s message.
The Moon Goddess will mention that Moongazer has been executed a number of times and that the fake sky that covers up the execution has been opened several times too. The Frost Moon has been outside of the false sky for many years with no evidence of Abyssal corruption. Therefore, the operation may not be nearly as dangerous as many people were worried it would be at the start.
The Goddess also believes that perhaps the Abyss does not always watch this location or that the creator of the sky may already have put measures in place to protect it.
How the Message Is Protected

The Moon Goddess also offers Ninnin the opportunity to have his messages shielded by her; since Kuuvahki and the Ancient Moon are both Light Realm powers, she can embed them into the transmitted message. She will keep an eye on the area where the data is travelling through the false sky to monitor potential danger and could erase the data should a threat arise. However, her protection can only extend so far before it becomes challenging to determine the location of the original message source.
Note: Choosing “Refuse to Take the Risk” appears to shorten the conversation by skipping some of the additional dialogue before leading to the same quest progression. After the dialogue ends, the next objective is Go to the Reverse Side of the Moon.
Project Moongazer Ending Explained
Project Moongazer reveals that the ancient signal sent into space is closely tied to the Traveler twins’ journey to Teyvat. The ending suggests the transmission may have guided them toward the world, adding new context to one of the game’s oldest mysteries. However, the quest doesn’t fully explain every detail, leaving some questions unanswered.
Project Moongazer is an ongoing cycle. A new black Moon Kuuhenki is periodically created to collect data, retrieve the message from the Moon Core, and sacrifice itself to send that signal into space. Once its mission is complete, another Kuuhenki continues the process, which explains how the Traveler twins could have received a similar transmission long before the events of the quest.
