How to Get Tarred Fabric
Tarred Fabric is an uncommon resource that’s really useful when you need something tough and resistant to water. This is ideal when making sails and other clothes that are resilient to rough usage. If you plan on crafting Tarred Fabric, remember that you will need a Tanning Rack. Ensure you have built and unlocked this structure in your base before anything else. The ingredients required for crafting Tarred Fabric are as follows:
- 1 piece of Linen Fabric
- 1 piece of Tar
Just place both materials into a Tanning Rack to craft 1 piece of Tarred Fabric.
How to Get Tar
Tar is a thick, sticky material that’s great for coating and crafting. This resource can be found in the swamp biome. In order to collect Tar, one must look for the Tar Wood trees that occur in the swamp. You need to enter the third biome, in the swamp biome. It can be entered by going to the south end of the second biome, and it is easily recognizable because of its unique appearance compared to all the other biomes.
The Tar Wood trees are different from the rest, and therefore, they are fairly easy to identify. You will require an Iron Axe to cut the Tar Wood trees. The Iron Axe can be crafted at level 2 workbench using five Foothills Iron Ingots and five Wood. They give you about two to ten Tar, making it worthwhile cutting as many as possible.
How to Get Linen Fabric
Linen Fabric is a simple resource which you’ll be using frequently in the process of tailoring various pieces of equipment. For crafting, you will require the Spinning Wheel along with some Flax Fiber.
Flax will have to be harvested in the forest for crafting purposes. The moment you collect your first piece of Flax Fiber, the Linen Fabric recipe unlocks on its own automatically. You just need to visit the Spinning Wheel to create it from the crafting list. Each round of crafting lasts around 30 seconds and produces Linen Fabric.
If you don’t have a Spinning Wheel yet, you can build one pretty easily. It only takes 10 Wood and 5 Rope, and it’s crafted almost instantly. Once it’s placed, you’re all set to start turning flax into Linen Fabric whenever you need it.
