Talk to Virgil to know about the Aqueous Tidemarks quest, then start your journey underwater. After collecting three clues, you will reach the site of the Liliacruces Forum. To make progress, you need to break the seaweed barrier ahead, but your normal spells and weapons won’t work here. Instead, look around to find Xenochromatic Hunter’s Ray. These creatures resemble stingrays floating around, and if you look closely, you will find a glowing orb above them. You need to get close to them and absorb their powers to break the barrier.
After that, explore the site to find two exquisite chests. One of the chests is floating high above, while the other is tied up by seaweeds. Let’s free the chest that is tied up first. There are three seaweed barriers that you need to cut around the area. Find them, then use the Fontemer Water Blades to cut the barrier. The barriers will have a glowing green orb on them, so you will know which one to cut. Unlock the chest, then make your way to the next one. To unlock the second chest, defeat the Hunter’s Ray in the area. There are two of them and they are green in color. Use any attack to defeat them, then check the chest for a key. Keep the key for later use.
Now, go close to the barrier at the main entrance and release the Fontemer Water Blades ability. This will clear the seaweed barrier and help you progress through the rest of the questline.
