Fix Battlefield 2042 Auto Fire, Input Bug – Gun Fires without Pressing Anything

Players have experienced that their gun kept firing by itself that is like the left mouse button is hold all the time. And many of them have already re-plugged their mouse but it did not work and so players are confused about what to do to fix Battlefield 2042 Auto Fire, Input Bug – Gun Fires without Pressing Anything.

1. One of the easiest solutions is to go to the Keybinds and delete all the Fire Keybinds except the left mouse client and make sure to do the same for the vehicles too. Once done, try to play the game and the issue should be resolved.

2. Another solution is to hold the Esc button and unbind fire from the controller. For this: open up your game’s menu and select Settings >> Key Bindings >> Soldier. Scroll down and you will find the control for ‘Fire’ that has buttons allotted for the controller, keyboard, and mouse. Here you need to delete the controller and keyboard binds by selecting the boxes and hold ‘Esc’ on the keyboard.

3. Disable or unplug any controllers that are connected and then play the game using Keyboard and Mouse and you won’t get any issues.

It is important to note that the same steps can be followed in case if you have issues with Sprints.

However, these solutions might not work for all players since some mouse types can be considered as a controller and so players are not able to delete one of the bindings. If this is your case, then the last resort is to wait for the next official fix by the devs.

  1. easy fix: go to my documents / battelfield 2042 open beat / settings / delete both “*profile” files, restart the game and all settings are back to default (you know when it works cause you have to reset your graphics)
