Dredge – How to Get Explosives
Certain items are locked behind quests, and explosives are one of those items. Here we will see how to get them in Dredge.
To get explosives in Dredge, you need to complete the Hermitage Pursuit quest. This quest will be given to you by the Retired Whaler, and you can find him in Ingfell. You also need to talk to his brother, the Hermit, who can be found in the Ruins. After that, you will get the objective to find the Family Crest for them.
Before you can embark on your adventure, you need to upgrade your boat a couple of times, especially for speed. The adventure ahead will be rough, so you should be prepared for the unexpected. Also, you need to make space in your inventory, as the Crest will take up four slots.
How to Start the Hermitage Pursuit Quest in Dredge
Once you have picked up the quest, head over to Gale Cliffs. There is a nameless dock (5) on the south side that you need to reach, and this will help you pass toward the Family Crest (4). You cannot travel through the middle (3) for now, since it is blocked, so you have to go around. From the Ruins (2), you can go to the west side, then head south. You can hug the rocky edges as you sail south toward the nameless dock. Once you reach the dock, sail directly to the north to get the Family Crest.
You should be warned about the one-eyed fish that will roam the seas here, all around Gale Cliff. You can check out for the glowing red spot underneath the water and avoid its grasp. The only way to save yourself is to sail away as quickly as possible when you find it. This is where the boat upgrades come in handy. Use the fastest option available to sail to your destination and back as quickly as possible.
How to Get the Family Crest in Dredge
The Family Crest will give off a sheen under the water’s surface, which makes it easy to spot. You can also check the map for the location. Once you are here, dredge the Family Crest to bring it back to the Whaler in Ingfell. He will then permit you to blow up the obstruction that you bumped into earlier. This is the same obstruction that blocked your path to obtaining the Family Crest. You have to go east, then find the area with yellow flags. All that is left is to interact with it to blow it up.
Once you are done, head back to the Whaler, who will then ask you to bring the Hermit. After that, you can access the Whaler’s shop. Over there, you can purchase explosives for 40$.
