To find large monsters, you first need to get all the new DLC items. This includes the Treasure Trunk, The Mole Hole, and Coach Joe’s Dungeon Gym. You can automatically get the DLC items in the Dark Prince Deluxe Edition of the game. Once you have the DLC downloaded, make your way to the Paddock and enter the hut where Donnie Mole resides. You can get to the Paddock if you use the portal in Rosehill. Once inside the hut, talk to the monster to access the Mole Hole. The Mole Hole is just a challenge area where you can find monsters quickly, including large monsters.
You can pick any area you wish to go as long as you have monsters that rank higher than the level. For example, if you are planning on rushing through the Mole Hole Rank G, then you should have monsters that are rank F and above to quickly find and capture monsters. The spawn rate for large monsters is random inside the mole hole, but they do spawn more frequently than in the overworld. If you don’t find any monsters to your liking, you can always exit and re-enter to find new monster spawns
