There are two ways you can get the Maxtac Mantis Blades. The first way is to get it straight from the source, which is from Melissa Roy. You will encounter her while completing the quest Bullets during your time playing the game.
- To trigger the quest, you need to first talk to Zane in an upscale clothing store called Jinguji.
- After your initial interaction, you won’t get the quest right away.
- So progress time a bit till you get a quest marker on the store.
- Make your way over there and agree to Zane’s proposal
- Tackle the enemy that starts wreaking havoc inside the store.
- Once that is done, Melissa will appear with the Maxtac.
- Wait till after the cutscene is over and you can find Melissa standing by the entrance to the store.
- You can shoot her down and attack her to get the weapon from her corpse
Melissa is a 5 star enemy, so tackling her early in the game can be tough. You have to level up quite a lot before you can shoot her down and claim the Mantis Blades off of her.
The second method to get the blades will happen much later in the game.
- During the quest Firestarter, choose to help Reed capture Songbird
- You will get the new quest Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos
- Call Mr.Hands and ask about the Maxtac convoy location
- Pay the fee for getting the information from Mr. Hands
- Make your way to Yoko’s shop and accept her proposal
- Follow the rest of the questline till you get the option to share the coordinates with Mr.Hands
- Head over to the coordinates and defeat the MaxTac operators
- Now all you have to do is wait for Mr. Hands to call you and leave you the Mantis Blades in your home.
