The Amulet of the Devout is guarded inside a chest, but the surrounding area is covered by a curse. There are two ways to bypass the curse and avoid getting the debuff. You can call a Hireling to your party and make them do all the hard work. You can also go there by yourself and use the Remove Curse spell after reaching the chest. If you use the latter option, you have to be prepared to fight a Deva. Fighting the Deva and winning will also give you an interesting reward from its corpse.
Now, to find the Amulet, make your way to the Lower City in Baldur’s Gate. You can get here during Act 3. Use the Basilisk Gate fast travel point, then head over to Stormshore Tabernacle. Once inside, make your way to the hatch on the left side of the entrance. You need to be wary of the NPCs nearby, so try to distract them first or turn invisible before you try to open the hatch. You can lock pick it and make your way down to the basement. Here, you can send your Hireling or go through the passage yourself. Walk through the curse towards the very back of the room. There is a large door that you can open. At the other side of the door is a chest that contains the Amulet of the Devout.
