There are several new bosses to fight in the region of Oakveil Woodlands in V Rising. Once you beat these characters, various items unlock, such as magical abilities, powers, structures and recipes. You can use these to improve your character progression. Each act has a fair share of bosses, and this guide has everything you want to know in order to locate and defeat them.
All New V Rising Bosses Locations and Rewards
V Rising’s 1.1 update brings the Invaders of Oakveil, bosses who roam an entirely new region called the Oakveil Woodlands. These bosses can be pretty challenging to beat, and they unlock new items.
Sir Erwin the Gallant Cavalier
- Level: 46
- Rewards: Storm Spell Point Tier 1, Stables, and Stables Furnishing
In V Rising version 1.1, one of the new playthrough additions introduces an entirely new set of challenges early, starting with Sir Erwin the Gallant Cavalier, which is the first new boss you’ll likely encounter at around level 46. The previous racecourse map in the Dunley Farmlands was empty. Still, now there’s the inclusion of Sir Erwin in that location—the main character used for unlocking Stables and mounts-related new features.
The twist that makes this fight distinctive is Erwin’s mobility—he never dismounts from horseback throughout the fight, making him hard to follow and attack. You’ll need quick reflexes and well-timed skills in order to close the gap and conclude your attacks with his mounted charging attacks. It’s a welcome break from early-game boss design, which often requires the player to play catch-up in a hurry.
Gaius the Cursed Champion
- Level: 55
- Rewards: Unholy Spell Point Tier 1, Arena Station, Arena Decorations, and Twinblades
Another underused landmark, the Dunley colosseum, has been revived with the addition of Gaius the Cursed Champion. His fight is something entirely different from anything that has preceded it in patches. When the fight begins, you’re pinned in a decreasing circle in the centre of the arena.
Step away, and you’re dead. To make matters even more challenging, there is an ongoing healing reduction debuff, so you’ll need to be both aggressive and conservative with your healing and quick on your feet. Defeating Gaius opens up the Arena Station and introduces a new powerful weapon type: the Twinblades, which are all about fast, combo-heavy play.
Stavros the Carver
- Level: 75
- Rewards: Chaos Spell Point Tier 2, Advanced Sawmill, Purple Castle Teleporter, and Weapon Coating
As you head into the Oakveil Woodlands, one of the first dangers you’ll encounter is Stavros the Carver. This fight centres around a new corruption mechanic, which applies stacking debuffs during the battle. Let the stacks build too high, and your damage output and survivability will take a serious hit. Managing your corruption levels becomes just as important as dodging attacks. On top of that, the small arena makes it easy to accidentally aggro nearby Venom Blades enemies, turning an already intense battle into a chaotic free-for-all.
Successfully defeating Stavros also grants you entry to a new weapon coating system. This mechanism allows players to add special effects to their firearms for extra damage or utility, adding more complexity to combat customization as you reach mid-game content.
Jakira the Shadow Huntress
- Level: 75
- Rewards: Illusion Spell Point Tier 2, Passive Skill Slot, Elixir of the Twisted, and Slashers
Jakira the Shadow Huntress is a stealthy, invisible wandering boss found in the Oakveil Woodlands. You will be ambushed when you suddenly hear her voice warning you for trespassing in Venom Blades’ territory.
The fight starts with a shock stun attack using a Slasher-type weapon. The Slasher unlock was formerly tied to one of the earlier V Blood bosses, but now, in this patch, it’s achieved by killing Jakira, who is a level 75 boss.
Lucile the Venom Alchemist
- Level: 76
- Rewards: Blood Spell Point Tier 2, Blood Hemogenizer, and Stand with Boiling Flask & Burner
Lucile the Alchemist of Venom is another foreboding danger in the Venom Mixing Outpost in the Oakveil Woodlands. Lucile is one of the most unpredictable bosses because of the use of random elixirs while she battles. The elixirs give her buffs and unleash special attacks, and you have to learn to counter these by using certain elixirs upon yourself.
Defeating Lucile will grant you the Blood Hemogenizer blueprints, alongside a combination of helpful crafts and consumables that will assist in getting through late-game grinding.
Dantos the Forgebinder
- Level: 82
- Rewards: Frost Spell Point Tier 2, Fusion Forge, and Ember Glass
Dantos the Forebinder opens up one of V Rising: Invaders of Oakveil’s strongest features. Beating him grants access to the Fusion Forge, an extremely valuable tool that lets you merge two of the highest-level weapons into an even stronger version. But it’s not a straightforward grab—Dantos is heavily defended in his fortress, the Venom Blades Bastion, which is defended by waves of Venom Blades foes that you have to beat to reach.
Dantos, at level 82, is a severe endgame test. If you’ve been out-grinding bosses this entire time, you’re in for a surprise—this fight demands more than mere brawn. He possesses a lot of fatal attack patterns, and one mistake will send you straight back to your coffin.
Megara the Serpent
- Level: 88
- Rewards: Pedestal of the Serpent, Soul Shard of the Serpent, and Dracula’s Leggings (Dread, Grim, Shadow, and Maleficer)
Megara the Serpent Queen has stolen the show as the game’s primary antagonist in V Rising: Invaders of Oakveil. Although she’s lower levelled than Dracula, don’t let your guard down—she’s just as hardy as one of the game’s most challenging bosses. She can be found in the Venom Blades Bastion, but from the other side of Dantos, the Forebinder’s forge.
Megara’s fight has several challenging aspects and requires almost perfect execution to defeat. She loses the Serpent Soul Shard, a valuable item that helps you get through the remaining bosses.
Surprisingly, one of Dracula’s set pieces of equipment now drops from her instead of his drop, allowing you to have the complete set before fighting him.
