Hellraiser Revival has two different endings and these two endings are determined by what happens to Aiden Lynch after he learns the truth about Sunny and her ties to the Cenobites. In one ending, Aiden reunites with Sunny, while in the other he has to live his life without her. Both endings, however, illustrate the main objectives of the game, such as greed and dependence and the consequences of chasing things at all costs.
The Truth Behind the Rite of Rebirth

The adventures of Aiden commence when his lover, Sunny, activates the Genesis Configuration, which transports her to the Labyrinth with the Cenobites. In a bid to rescue her, Aiden agrees to trade his physical form in exchange for the return of Sunny.
He collects the hearts of Colin Marlo and Charlotte from Sister of Mercy to revive Sunny. Nevertheless, Aiden and Marlo misunderstand the objective of the Rite of Rebirth. While Marlo feels that the rite is intended to make humans into Cenobites, Aiden is of the belief that its objective is to resurrect Sunny.
However, in actual sense Genesis Configuration elects the Revenant Mother; whoever carries a wound inside him. Sunny is the chosen one, and the hearts Aiden collects nourish her as part of a larger ritual. Finally, the moment she eats Marlo’s heart, she acquires an identity that resembles human; however, Aiden assumes it exists solely to resurrect Sunny.
The biggest revelation comes when Sunny says yes to the Cenobites. From that moment, she admits that she was meant to live this way from the very beginning and that she made her own deal with the Cenobites. Aiden’s determination to rescue her was exactly what she needed to complete the ritual.
Ending 1: Experience Beyond Limits

Aiden steps after Sunny at the end into the closing gateway, and he gives up his ordinary human life to be with her.
His choice may be interpreted in two different ways. On the one hand, Aiden might have developed a genuine interest in learning something more than humanity after witnessing the Labyrinth and the truth about Sunny. Consequently, following her would be his conscious decision to choose a new way of living.
On the other hand, one can suggest that Aiden has not yet broken free from his dependency on Sunny. Throughout the gameplay, he admits that his reliance is similar to his past addictions, but just understanding this fact does not make it less compelling. Rather than choosing to live without Sunny, he decides to follow her instead.
In short, Experience Beyond Limits allows a different interpretation to Aiden’s choice here. In fact, it is ambiguous whether his choice leads him to a new life or he ends up being controlled by the same addiction he had suffered from throughout the story.
Ending 2: Human After All

In Human After All, Aiden closes the gateway without actually going after Sunny or the Cenobites. He stays in the real world, having lost both Sunny, part of his own body, and unable to recover his life.
Aiden will never be able to undo the deaths and sacrifices he caused during his mission, but he has the opportunity of moving forward and creating a life independent of Sunny.
Zora’s last conversation with Aiden only confirms this idea. Zora tells Aiden that he should not lose hope due to his flaws and that being human means he can change. When asked what he intends to do, Aiden admits that he will do something with his life, but he will avoid making the same mistakes in the future.
Which Ending Is Better?
In both endings, Aiden is seen realizing the consequences of all that he has done, but the outcomes differ in what they mean for the character’s destiny.
- Experience Beyond Limits: Aiden chooses to go after Sunny, who could either set him free or make him continue being emotionally dependent on her.
- Human After All: Aiden remains human, acknowledges the death of Sunny, and thus has the chance to live on his own.
Neither ending restores Aiden’s former life. Instead, the game asks whether recognizing a destructive pattern is enough to break free from it.
What Could Happen Next?

The game leaves room for a possible sequel, although no future installment is confirmed in the provided material. A sequel can follow Aiden’s journey after “Human After All,” with Zora being a more significant character as the Aramite linked to connections between humans and the Cenobites.
Other puzzle boxes could also introduce new purposes beyond the Genesis Configuration’s role in the Rite of Rebirth. Sunny’s future remains another possibility, particularly because she willingly chose to join the Cenobites.
As a result, Hellraiser Revival uses two endings to show the difference between loving someone and relying on them to be complete in life. Aiden must choose between following the desire that drives him or staying human and understanding who he is without Sunny.
