Each of the four houses symbolizes a different attribute. Below are the meanings of each House.
- Gryffindor: Symbolic of courage, chivalry, and determination
- Hufflepuff: Stand up for justice, loyalty, and diligent work.
- Ravenclaw: Best known for wisdom, wit, and intellect
- Slytherin: Known traits are ambition, determination, and cleverness.
During the Sorting Ceremony, you can learn more about each of the four Houses by clicking on the information button above the House symbols. While the Sorting Hat initially recommends a House, you can refute it and pick a House you like. You should be warned that your decision is final, and you cannot change it later in the game.
As for the most desirable House in the game, it largely depends on your preference. The only major difference you will face in picking a House is the House colors and access to the common room. You can interact with players in the common room of the House you choose, but not others. Besides that, everything else in the game remains the same, so it won’t matter what you pick during the Sorting Ceremony.
