To start the Exhuming Faith side quest, you have to go to Dry Steppes’ Dindai Flats area. Take a walk to the Orbei Monastery to find a Blood-Splattered Scroll on the ground. Pick it up and read the contents to start the Exhuming Faith quest.

Now you can open the map and have a look at where you can find the Zakarum trail markers. There are three trail markers that you need to retrieve around the Dry Steppes area. You can spot all three in the Scarred Coast area. Each time you pick one marker, you will get a clue to find the next one. Below is where you can find all three markers.

The markers can be a bit hard to spot since they can easily camouflage with their surroundings. You should have a keen eye to spot them.
