How to Fish in Destiny 2
- Check the Fishing Tackle item to find out which area has increased fishing activity. There are three areas you can explore; The Throne World, EDZ, and Nessus.
- First, you have to find a Fishing Pond. Head over to the Miasma area in Throne World, Outskirts in the EDZ, or the Cistern on Nessus. You will usually find Guardians gathered around here
- If you are unable to find a pond, then make sure that there is no public event going on at the same time. They will reappear once the event is over
- Step on the dock and press and hold X (Xbox)/ Square (PS) to cast your line. This will take up one Bait each time you cast
- Once you spot your line starting to flash and your lure is taken underwater, press X/ Square again to reel
- To get the perfect catch, you have to time your reels accordingly
- To know what fish you have caught, you can check the Fishing Tackle in your inventory. You can collect 500 fish and store them here
- After that, head over to HELM and release the fish into your aquarium
How to Catch Fish Efficiently in Destiny 2
- If you or a fellow guardian could capture a legendary or exotic fish, it will trigger the Focused Fishing meter. When this gets filled by catching more fish, your chances of encountering legendary and exotic fishes will increase.
- Having perfect catches can also slightly increase your chance of filling up the Focused Fishing meter.
- Also, visiting the pond that has the highest chances of catching rare fish using the Fishing Tackle will help you catch them quickly.
- It is best to visit a pond that has 3 or more people, or invite your friends to work together and fill the meter.
You should note that if you relocate to another pond or if the activity gets removed due to a public event in Destiny 2, then your Focused Fishing meter will reset.
