Alhaitham is the next upcoming 5-star character and he’s a Dendro sword user. He’s expected to be a Dendro DPS who will scale from EM and this was expected since Dendro reactions naturally scale off EM. He’s a long-awaited and hyped character due to his slick design and his role as a genius strategist and tactician in saving the Dendro Archon- Lesser Lord Kusanali.
We’ve known the guy since the first Sumeru patch and ever since players have been enthralled by his design and demeanour. In this article, we’ll reveal to you his leaked kit and what you can expect from him overall.
Alhaitham’s Talents in Genshin Impact 3.4
Alhaitham is a quick swap Dendro DPS who requires small to average field time to do his job. Since he mainly scales off of Elemental Mastery (EM), a full EM build is recommended for him. This however doesn’t mean ATK is useless on him since he also scales off of ATK. That said, the majority of his damage comes from his EM-scaling.
NA: Abductive Reasoning
Normal Attack: Performs up to 5 rapid strikes.
Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes.
Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AOE DMG upon impact.
E. Universality: An Elaboration on Form
Rushes forward, dealing Dendro DMG to nearby opponents when the rush ends, causing a Chisel-Light Mirror to form.
Holding this skill will cause it to behave differently.
Hold
Enters Aiming Mode to adjust the direction of Alhaitham’s rush attack.
Chisel-Light Mirror
When this skill is unleashed, Alhaitham will generate 1 Chisel-Light Mirror. If there are no Mirrors at this time, he will generate 1 additional Mirror. Chisel-Light Mirrors will have the following properties:
- When he possesses Chisel-Light Mirrors, Alhaitham’s Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks will be converted to Dendro DMG. This cannot be overridden.
- When attacks of the aforementioned kind hit opponents, the Chisel-Light Mirrors will unleash a Projection Attack that deals AOE Dendro DMG based on the number of Mirrors on the field.
- A total of 3 Chisel-Light Mirrors can exist at once.
- The Chisel-Light Mirrors will disappear one after the other over time, and will all disappear when Alhaitham leaves the field.
“Truth inherently exists amidst uncertainty. Even the greatest of scholars are not immune to error. “
Q. Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena
Creates a Particular Binding Field and deals multiple instances of AOE Dendro DMG.
If Chisel-Light Mirrors exist when this ability is unleashed, all such Mirrors will be consumed and increase the number of DMG instances dealt.
2s after this ability is unleashed, if 0/1/2/3 Mirrors were consumed, Alhaitham will generate 3/2/1/0 new Mirrors in turn.
“If a researcher makes wisdom their goal, then they should be prepared to make an enemy of every word they read. Only then can they avoid bias. “
Passive Talents
Alhaitham’s passives focus on increasing his damage- directly or indirectly. His first ascension passive helps him generate his 3 Chisel-Light Mirrors faster. His second ascension passive increases the damage of his coordinated Projection Attacks based on his EM.
Four-Causal Correction
When Alhaitham’s Charged or Plunging Attacks hit opponents, they will generate 1 Chisel-Light Mirror. This effect can be triggered once every 12s.
Mysteries Laid Bare
Each point of Alhaitham’s Elemental Mastery will increase the DMG dealt by Projection Attacks and Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena by 0.1%. The maximum DMG increase for both these abilities is 100%.
Law of Reductive Overdetermination
When Alhaitham crafts Weapon Ascension Materials, he has a 10% chance to receive double the product.
Overall Thoughts
Alhaitham’s leaked kit and gameplay have earned him the title of Dendro Keqing since they both share a teleport ability with their E skill and then go on to deal their respective elemental DMG using their normal, charged and plunging attacks. Alhaitham’s animations are certainly more polished and fancy but unlike Keqing, he doesn’t necessarily need to use his E skill to teleport. He’s also a much more flexible DPS unit seeing as how he can slot into many meta Dendro teams today, including the initial Dendro teams that were formed before Nahida’s release.
Alhaitham’s initial kit leaks showed us a much stronger character who can even be considered broken. He had much higher ATK and EM scaling modifiers which led many to believe he was a contender for the strongest main DPS position alongside the likes of Hu Tao and Ayaka. Ever since he got a massive nerf players have lost their initial confidence in his worth. He’s still a very strong EM-scaling Dendro unit on paper and we’ll only find out his real damage numbers once he’s released. We can assure you he will be a good Dendro DPS unit- but we cannot promise that he’ll be broken.
Since Alhaitham comes in a patch filled with meta-dominating DPS units like Xiao, Yelan and Hu Tao, it would be tough competition to stand out and or even attempt to outshine them all. Though if you like him for his character, then of course we encourage you to pull for him.
