Modern Warfare 2 is bringing third-person gameplay to the series for the first time in any major title. Until today, the third-person mode was only supported in the battle royale mode of Call of Duty. With the upcoming title, the developers are trying to make the TPP mode complimentary to the regular first-person mode fans are well accustomed to.
However, the inclusion of third-person mode has not been welcomed by a chunk of Call of Duty fans. According to some players, a first-person mode is the only way to play a Call of Duty title. The addition of third-person mode robs the series of its uniqueness, according to some fans.
However, a significant chunk of the game’s audience is ready to try out something new in this upcoming title. The third-person mode will give some users some unique advantages over the vanilla first-person gameplay experience CoD veterans are familiar with.
It is worth noting that when gamers aim down sights, the game will shift to the classic first-person ADS view to let gamers get a precise shot of their enemy. Third-person will be supported in only a bunch of gameplay modes including Team Deathmatch, Knockout, Domination, and Prisoner Rescue.
How to enable the third-person mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2?
Third-person mode is supported in a few game modes only, as mentioned above. Thus, gamers will have to play these modes to be able to switch the view and get a look at their character in-game.
The currently ongoing Open Beta already supports the third-person view in some game modes. Several gamers have showcased how the game looks while playing the game from a different perspective.
Players can also switch the angle of view and get a wide look at the map and its surroundings. However, it is worth noting that increasing the angle of view will significantly impact performance as the game has to render more 3D objects.
The third-person mode has a lot of potential in Modern Warfare 2. It can be easily used to get a competitive edge in gameplay.
