Call of Duty: Vanguard is one of the most awaited games of the year and its release date is almost here. Activision has scheduled the release date for 5th November 2021. Even before its release, it has created huge excitement among the fans. Vanguard is introducing a lot of new features- from the cinematic, globe-trotting campaign to 20 multiplayer maps at launch to the first Zombie crossover- all are the brand new addition the developers have made in this game. Players are interested to experience these features and waiting eagerly for the game to be released on 5th November.
There is a lot of speculations and questions among the players related to the release of Call of Duty: Vanguard. Many of them are asking if COD: Vanguard will come to Steam or not? Well, COD: Vanguard is an exclusive game of Battle.net, therefore, there is no chance for Vanguard to be released on Steam.
Since the transition of Battle.net, Activision’s Call of Duty Series has been absent from Valve’s Storefront. Activision now has its own platform, they don’t need other platforms to launch their games. Obviously, it has its financial side. If Activision releases its game on Steam, they have to share a certain percentage of their profit with Valve; but as Battle.net is their own platform they don’t need to share their profit with anyone. Therefore, the Call of Duty Series is now absent from Steam for a while.
But fans are not ready to understand these financial things and they are constantly asking whether Call of Duty: Vanguard will come to Steam or not. Some fans are so angry that they even prefer to quit COD than playing it on another platform. But Activision will not launch COD: Vanguard, an exclusive Battle.net game to anywhere else.
Activision’s decision of launching the previous edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War to Battle.net has been proved profitable for them as it broke a series digital sales record last year. They have got the positive impact of their shift from Steam to Battle.net, therefore, they will launch the new edition Call of Duty: Vanguard to Battle.net instead of Steam. As their strategy did not backfire, they will not share their profit with Valve anymore. So, unfortunately, there is no chance of COD: Vanguard to be released on Steam.
