Another significant element in Gears of War E-Day is the Active Reload feature, which can be used in order to resume combat more quickly. Instead of waiting until the usual reloading process is over, one may press the Reload button at the correct moment, thus speeding the reloading process. It should also be noted that the Active Reload meter can be moved around the screen if its default location is inconvenient. In this guide, we’ll explain how to change the meter’s position and how to use Active Reload correctly.

How to Change the Active Reload Meter Position

The Active Reload meter will be placed in the centre of the screen by default when you begin the game. In case you find it distracting or would rather place it somewhere more visible, you can do so from the game’s settings.

To move the Active Reload meter to a different place on the screen, you should access the Settings menu and choose Interface. Scrolling down the menu, you will come across the Active Reload Position option. By default, the Active Reload meter position is set to Centre, meaning that it will be placed in the middle of your screen. There is an option to move it to the top right corner of the screen if desired.

Choosing Top Right and going back to the game will result in the Active Reload meter appearing in the top-right corner of your screen during the reload of your gun. You can always return to the same setting and switch the position back to the centre if you change your mind.

How to Use the Active Reload Meter Position

Active Reload allows you to speed up your reload process through proper timing while pressing the second time on the Reload button. After initiating the reloading process, a marker will appear on your reload bar heading towards the highlighted segment. When the marker reaches the highlighted segment, that is the right time to press your second Reload button. A properly timed Active Reload can even provide an additional bonus specific only to the weapon you are using.

It is critical to time the pressing of your second Reload button. Pressing the button twice in a row right after each other may lead you to fail. A failure in the process of reloading will result in your gun getting jammed for a short period of time. Thus, it is advised to practice Active Reload behind cover.

Keep in mind that every weapon can have slightly different reload timing. It is a good idea to practice with the weapons you use most often. Once you get used to their reload timing, performing Active Reloads becomes much easier during combat.
