Star Wars: Galactic Racer offers multiple approaches to racing in the game, however, it can be of great benefit to choose your preferred Racer Style from the very start. Whether you want to avoid crashes completely, maintain high speed or sabotage competitors, being aware of all the possibilities will help you decide on upgrades wisely and build around your playstyle.

Choose a Vehicle That Fits Your Style

When starting a campaign, you may select either a landspeeder, a speeder bike, or a skim speeder. Landspeeders are the most stable option among the three, so they are the best choice for beginners.

Although the speeder bike is the fastest option once it gets into drifting, over time it does get weaker and can run wide in corners as well. Skim speeders require more skill to handle but are capable of executing Knife Edge for sharper turns.

Tenacious Is Ideal for Players Who Crash Often

Tenacious is an excellent early option if difficult tracks have resulted in numerous crashes. Tenacious comes with Autopilot, which makes going through difficult sections easier and safer.

Autopilot can be very useful when you’re learning unfamiliar tracks for the first time or if you want to get ready for difficult portions on later laps. The best thing about Tenacious is that you can have one additional crash in each race, with further traits becoming available as you use the style.

Survivor Offers a Safer Approach

If you prefer the idea of staying out of trouble, Survivor can be a defensive style that focuses on making sure the racer is safe and having a clean run. This is useful for learning the tracks and mechanics of the game which is particularly helpful if you do not yet feel confident in high-speed racing.

Choose Ramjet-Focused Styles for Speed

When building for speed, invest first and foremost on Ramjet’s power and duration, then put some points into Cornering to keep your racer under control. Invest just enough into Afterburners to ensure you have a source of continuous acceleration while Ramjet is recharging. Although Kinetic Blast can aid in cornering faster at some points, it is more useful once you have additional skill points.

Ramjet Rider allows for more refined use of Ramjet’s power, while redlining takes it up to a whole new level for greater power.  If speed is the focus then Autopilot can come in handy for passing tricky parts of the course without losing any momentum.

Use Combat Styles to Attack Opponents

Combat builds are based on ramming impact and weapon abilities. The battery is a key improvement here since it can allow the use of abilities more often. You can still put points in Ramjet and Cornering, but it would be best not to forget the support for the offensive abilities. Brawler offers a more focused combat route while Resilience decreases incoming damage during takedowns.

Match Favors to Your Biggest Problem

Your Racer Style can benefit from Favors or overcome its shortcomings. If crashes are your main concern, Mad Genius will help you with crash allowance. If League Tokens are an issue, Clandestine Aid will give you extra safety during the Tour.

Gadgeteer can come in handy whenever you need additional Parts. You shouldn’t make the mistake of trying to look for the perfect combination right from the start; rather, you should select Favors based on what is actually causing your runs to fail.

Prioritize Survival During Early Tours

Achieving victory in every race is not mandatory for progress. Finishing a Tour enables one to secure opportunities to make upgrades. Furthermore, there is higher risk involved with Elimination races since being eliminated during the race costs you a League Token.

When choosing routes to follow, you should consider what options will be available during the Tour. Time Trials are usually easier and rewarding and depending on the Mystery Encounters entered, it is important to say that it is recommended to have about 4000 credits for each entry.

Which Style Should You Pick?

  • Tenacious: Best if crashes are your biggest problem.
  • Survivor: Good for a safer, defensive approach.
  • Ramjet-focused: Suited to players who want maximum speed.
  • Combat-focused: Ideal if you prefer attacking opponents.

Early on, there is no need to overcomplicate your build in Star Wars: Galactic Racer. Pick the style that matches how you want to race, then specialize further as you unlock more options.
