Zenara and Astralym are the last Tower Bosses that you will find when playing in Palworld 1.0. It is considered one of the most difficult fights in the game. This battle puts your gear, Pals, and dodging skills to the test, as both bosses use powerful attacks that can quickly overwhelm you if you’re unprepared. Fortunately, with proper preparation, this battle will become much easier for you. In this guide, we’ll tell you the best gear to bring, the strongest Pals to use, and strategies to help you defeat Zenara and Astralym.
Zenara and Astralym in Palworld 1.0
The last two bosses that you will face inside the World Tree are Zenara and Astralym. It is possible for you to access the location of this boss after completing the questline involving Panthalus and opening the sealed door using all the Key Spheres obtained from defeating the other bosses inside the towers. Since this is one of the hardest fights in the game, it’s best to be around Level 80, and your active Pals should be close to that level as well.
Recommended Equipment

Both the Heat Resistant Ancient Armour, the Cold Resistant Ancient Armour, and the Lightweight Ancient Armour would be perfect for this battle.
- Mechanical Bow for consistent damage and critical hits.
- Plasma Rifle for high burst damage during openings and wing phases.
- Triple Jump Boots to dodge ground attacks more easily.
- Gravity Belt for extra mobility.
- Ancient Helm (even the common version works well enough).
It is not necessary that you have to be equipped with full stats to win the fight; all you have to do is learn the pattern of the boss attacks and dodge them carefully, while using Jetragon to get away from those attacks which are very lethal for you, and also depending on Lovander for healing.
The Mechanical Bow will be a good choice for you since this bow deals consistent damage and makes the critical hit easier to land. You should keep the Plasma Rifle with you as your second weapon.
Best Pals
Astralym does not have an element type nor an elemental weakness, so you can’t exploit it with a specific element. Additionally, the boss uses attacks from several elements during battle, which means you should have the most powerful Pals for battling, rather than worrying about elemental weaknesses. Pick Pals that have the most efficient Active Skills, have high statistics, and have Passive Skills.
It would be recommended to include both Jetragon and Lovander in the team before battling. With Jetragon, you can easily dodge damaging attacks, and with Lovander, you will gain Life Steal, which enables recovery of HP when in need.
How to Defeat Zenara and Astralym

At the start of the battle, keep moving and use the Triple Jump Boots to jump frequently. Being in the air will protect you from many of the enemy’s attacks, including the glowing spots on the floor that will burst into an explosion.
If Astralym decides to focus on you after receiving some critical damage, then you should always be at a safe distance and use Mechanical Bow for attacks, paying attention to the coming beam attacks. Whenever you hear that you have to attack the boss’s wings, you should aim at glowing orbs located on them. If you switch to Plasma Rifle, it will help you to destroy the weak points of the boss much quicker.
During the entire fight, Astralym will start using more effective beam attacks that will destroy your shield very fast. In such a situation, you need to immediately call for Jetragon and take off because the situation will get even harder when the boss’s health drops to half level as the boss will start using big explosions and pink beam attacks.
Second Phase

Around the halfway point, it’s safest to stay on your flying Pal whenever these big attacks begin. It will enable you to easily dodge these attacks, which include the explosions, rotating energy rings, etc. As the boss becomes low in health, it starts using the beam attacks frequently. This is where the Triple Jump Boots become extremely useful, as repeated jumps help you avoid taking unnecessary damage.
When the HP level of your character goes down, it is advisable to switch to Lovander. The Life Steal ability helps you restore your lost HP by damaging the boss with your attacks. Just bear in mind that Lovander is not durable, and thus should be used to replenish the HP level before returning to Jetragon or any other Pal.
As Astralym gets close to defeat, it enters its final phase and starts charging a powerful finishing attack. You have only seconds before this attack gets triggered. Therefore, it is better to reserve all your Active Skills, Partner Skills, and powerful weapons before that moment. It is the most effective method to deal with Astralym before it uses its final attack.
How to Defeat Hard Mode Zenara and Astralym in Palworld 1.0

Hard Mode Astralym is much harder than the regular encounter. Once the regular Astralym encounter is defeated and Hard Mode Astralym is activated, a Pal Box becomes available in the middle of the arena. Using the box, you can summon up to 15 Pals for the boss fight.
An effective tactic would be to make sure your Pals have a solid body resistance to survive Zenara’s powerful moves. For instance, Palladius equipped with Diamond Body would be an excellent choice for your team composition. It might also be helpful to summon a powerful damage dealer like Frostallion and concentrate on the survival of your Pals.
During the fight, Astralym gains a unique mechanic when its wings start to connect. At that point, attack the wings immediately. It will cause Astralym to stagger, which is perfect for additional damage.
Second Phase
In the second phase, the battle will become very difficult. Astralym begins using a huge spinning red laser, which goes around the arena. It could focus on different targets, so always try to avoid being hit by this attack; don’t try to take all the damage from it. This laser could quickly knock you out.
The gravity attack will be continuously used by Astralym throughout the second phase, so heal your Pals after each cast. During this battle, you need to avoid the lasers, survive AoE attacks, revive dead Pals, and keep healing living Pals.
During the end-game phase of the battle with Zenara, you will see her final phase. There is nothing specific to be done in order to pass it; just deal some damage. After defeating Astralym in Hard mode, you will get the Psycho Gravity skill.
