Thorus hands off the Out of Sight Quest to you in Old Town as one of your first side quests in Gothic 1 Remake. The quest requires you to deal with Mordrag while ensuring that Thorus’s involvement in the matter doesn’t get revealed. Here are the steps needed to complete this quest successfully and earn a valuable reward.
Get the Quest from Thorus
Thorus is a guard at the entrance to Old Town who will give you the Out of Sight side quest. To get the quest from him, you’ll need to engage in dialogue with Thorus and make him agree for your help in dealing with Mordrag, but you must do so without Mordrag getting to know about Thorus’s involvement.
Also, it may be wise to create a save first before confronting Mordrag, as combat early in the game can be tough due to Mordrag’s ability to defeat anyone in only a few hits. You may have to make several attempts to finally defeat Mordrag in combat.
Loot Mordrag’s Ring
Once you arrive near the southern exit of the Old Camp, you will find Mordrag. As soon as you reach Mordrag, you will get the opportunity to engage in dialogue with him, and the dialogue options will help you initiate the fight.
Once Mordrag is slain, make sure to loot him right away, as he will stand back up shortly. Thus, there is only a brief amount of time available to collect his items.
One of the most sought-after loot items from Mordrag is a special ring that gives a +5 Dexterity bonus. Be sure to collect this ring before Mordrag recovers.
Return to Thorus
After you have defeated Mordrag, you’ll need to go back and see Thorus to complete the quest. Thorus will acknowledge you for completing the quest with his approval being your reward for handling the situation well.
Completing Out of Sight will give you favor from Thorus when you perform other activities in Old Town.
