When farming for Quagmire Powder, the first step is unlocking the Cursed Swamp area. You’ll get access to this area after progressing through the main story and defeating the Foothills boss, Israel Hands. After defeating him, you will be given a mission called Forgotten Relics that will lead you directly to you Cursed Swamp area.
Once you have reached the swamp area, start exploring. There, you will find enemies known as Plague Thralls, drowned monsters that have been corrupted by the swamp. Be prepared before engaging them, as they can be quite tough compared to earlier enemies. When you defeat a Plague Thrall, it usually drops Quagmire Powder.
How to Use Quagmire Powder
Quagmire Powder is a unique resource, that burns much brighter and stronger than you’d expect. It is usually found in the Swamps area, where it can be acquired from the defeated monsters there. It’s mainly used for crafting, especially when making Mire Metal Ingots. Each piece of Quagmire Powder can be turned into one Mire Metal Ingot, making it an important resource once you reach this stage of the game.
Mire Metal Ingot is a refined metal bar made by smelting ancient iron. Although its exact content remains unclear, but it’s clearly much stronger and more valuable than regular metal, making it useful for crafting higher-tier gear and items.
