Having The Weight around may prove problematic for your quest to reach the Medical Center area of Silent Hill Townfall, as you have to explore the location and pick up blood bags. Though there is no way of killing The Weight in the process of the game, it is possible to trap the monster for a while and move around safely. Here’s how to get rid of The Weight and continue through the Medical Center.
How to Get Rid of The Weight at the Medical Center
The Weight following you around the Medical Center, you can’t kill it permanently during your first Medical Center sequence. What you need to do is stay away from The Weight as you solve the blood bag puzzle.
How to deal with The Weight
Do not try to battle The Weight when it shows up. Instead, run through the hospital and utilize the rooms and passages to gain some space. There is an additional tactic that may help you to trap it:
- Trigger The Weight and let it start chasing you.
- Run upstairs and enter the bathroom.
- While in the bathroom, use a glass bottle and smash it against the wall to alert The Weight.
- Go through the crawlspace and wait on the other side.
- Watch The Weight come into the bathroom, then go around the corridor back to the bathroom entrance.
- Enter the bathroom again and lock the door behind you, which will trap The Weight inside.
You might need to sacrifice an IV bag if you wish to leave the bathroom through the crawlspace, as the Weight will grab on to you if you try to leave. But this is a small sacrifice to make for an easier time during the next stage in the Medical Center. This will give you sufficient time to go ahead and continue searching for the necessary blood bags.
This is however a temporary fix since The Weight might come back to haunt you in the future, especially after you have picked up the other blood bags. The monster’s AI may seem like it is messed up on some occasions. The thing just continues to track you even if you remain silent or you hide in one spot for quite a while. It is hoped that Screen Burn will solve this problem in the near future.
