Elegance is one of the trickiest Aspiration Attributes to level in Where Winds Meet. It ties directly into your social and charisma-based Exploration Skills, so raising it early can make a huge difference when persuading NPCs, disguising yourself, or pulling off bold social actions. The catch is that Elegance grows slowly unless you know where to look.
This guide breaks down the fastest and most reliable ways to boost Elegance, plus every Food Stall location you’ll need for the Gourmet Challenge.

Fastest Ways to Increase Elegance in Where Winds Meet

You’ll gain the most Elegance through two activities:
- Petting cats for the Kitty Lover feat
- Food Stalls- sampling dishes for the gourmet challenge.
Both require a bit of wandering, but once you know what to look for, the Attribute climbs steadily.
Finding Cats for Elegance
Cats are your easiest source of Elegance. Their meows can be heard from far away, and many towns hide several of them in corners, on rooftops, and in markets.
A couple of reliable spots:
- Meow Meow Temples in Kaifeng and Qinghe
- Player-placed Signposts, which often point toward hidden cats
To earn Elegance properly, walk up to the cat, press E, and choose Pet the Cat. Make sure you don’t skip the animation, or the Elegance point won’t count.

Food Stalls: The Most Constant Farm in Elegance

Food Stalls are found across nearly every settlement. Buying any dish with Commerce Coins gives you one Elegance point. It’s a great long-term grind and ties into the Gourmet Challenge, which rewards you with even more Elegance and regional Exploration Points once you’ve tasted all local specialities.

What Elegance Actually Does

Elegance improves your success with charisma-driven Exploration Skills. It influences things like:
- Disguising yourself as a non-player character
- Assessment of Persuasion and Credibility
- Gift of Garb passives
- Convincing NPCs to give away items or information
It also boosts your chances when chatting with NPCs through the AI-driven dialogue system, making social encounters smoother and far more rewarding. The higher your Elegance, the easier it becomes to talk your way into secrets, access restricted items, and bypass challenges without ever drawing your sword.
