To sneak up on animals, press the crouch key (Ctrl) to lay low, then start moving in the direction you need to go. You can also press Q key to use the Life Perception skill, which helps highlight any fauna nearby. Follow the path towards the animal you are trying to hunt without bringing attention to yourself. In case you feel like the animal has spotted you, an eye icon will appear over it with a meter. The more aware it is of you, the more the meter will fill up. Once the meter is filled, the animal will either flee or attack
Once you are close enough to attack the animal, you can pull out a weapon of your choice to hit it. Usually ranged weapons like the bow and arrow work well in early game, so you can use that to land a kill. Each animal has a weak spot that you can aim for, and you can check out each discovered animal’s details in your Hunting Gallery. While aiming, try and ensure that the dot within the crosshairs are red so you an land the perfect hit
