There are two common ways to farm ash early in the game. The first method is to clear encounters from Erebus and beyond. Some rooms are marked with the Ash icon, so you know you are guaranteed to get ash after clearing it. During your run you might spot a few Charon’s Chest. These also have a high chance of having ash, so try to unlock them if you find it. Ans last, you can purchase ash from the Wretched Broker for some bone.
To use Ash, head over to your Altar of Ashes and use ash to unlock new Arcana Cards. it is required as an ingredient in the following incantations
- Fated Intervention Incantation: Ash x2, Silver x1, Moly x2
- Floral Fortune Incantation: Ashes x1, N.Shade x1
- Consecration of Ashes Incantation: Ashes x6, F. Fabric x6, Cinder x1
- Shadow Extraction Incantation: Psych x30, Ashes x30, F. Fabric x3
