To start farming nightmares, you need to first get the Oath of the Unseen artifact. This is one of the drops you get from defeating Chronos. After his defeat, make your way to the staircase in the Crossroad to access the artifact. Interact with the battle menu and pick your setting. Once you are in, all you have to do is follow the instructions and defeat whatever boss you are up against. Upon successfully defeating them, they will drop Nightmares
While that is the only easy way to get Nightmares, you can also get it by purchasing it from the Wretched Broken. But it will cost 1000 Bones, which is quite expensive. So running through the Oath of the Unseen is your best bet to collect nightmares
