The only way you can get the Darkmetal Greaves is by exploring the Riverside Cavern. There is a chest that you can find inside the cavern that will contain the Darkmetal Greaves. But if you don’t know where the cavern is, make your way to Misty Marshes in the northern Vermund section. You can find it if you make your way north to slightly northeast of Ancient Battleground and Checkpoint Rest Town. You can also find it if you take the northwest exit from Vernworth and keep going till you spot a misty area. Now that you can reach the Misty Marshes, just head southwest to find Riverside Cavern. You can also reach the Riverside Cavern if you take the road northwest from Harve Village and crossing the river, then heading south. Beware, the place is filled with goblins and saurians, and you might also encounter a Chimera here. 

Once you clear the cavern, all you have to do is explore it to find a chest. Unlock it to get the Darkmetal Greaves. Below are the stats you can get from equipping it
