Currently, the only sect you can join right now is the Wudang Sect. You can unlock this sect as part of the main story, but you can reach it way later into the game. You will find this sect after leaving Luo Village to seek the sect’s assistance. You can find this sect if you walk past Pingkang City, cross the nearby bridge, and keep heading west. Once you reach the mountains, get on top to find the Wudang Sect. You can talk to the two men called Mowen and Yuanming at the entrance, as they will stop and question you. This will start a sparring match, and after defeating them you will gain access to the Wudang Sect.
For now, the Wudang Sect is the earliest and only sect you can join in the game. It is unknown whether more sects will be added in later updates. But for now, you can complete the quests under the Wudang Sect and raise your affinity with them.
