To include attachments to your ship, you need to find a ship technician first. You can find Jasmine Durand on The Key, and she can help you put this together. Interact with her till you get the choice to view and modify your ships. This will take you to the modification and ship builder window. Browse through your ships and select the ones that can activate shields. Then select the Ship Builder option at the bottom of the screen and click on Add. On the right side, a new menu will appear. Scroll through the tabs on top till you can find the Equipment option. The Conduction Grid and the Comspike are the first two options available here, and they can be added to your ship for free.

Select the item, then drag and place them on your ship. You will get a pointer to know where to add them, and once they are attached they will glow green. This means that the placement is accurate, and you can now use the new attachments. You would also need the Weapon Mount, so attach that on the ship as well. Once your modifications are on, you can confirm your selection and complete this part of the quest.
