Yae Miko is the current Divine Priestess of the Grand Narukami Shrine and is highly revered by the people of Inazuma. She is known for her wisdom, charisma, and leadership qualities. She’s intended to be an Electro sub-DPS and while that was true before the release of Sumeru, Dendro changed everything post Version 3.0. Read on as we tell you why this fox is actually one of the best DPS in the game right now.

Yae Miko’s Journey in Genshin Impact as a Playable Unit

Even before Sumeru, casual players were all praises for this foxy shrine priestess because she effectively allowed players just to deploy her elemental skill’s Electro turrets and go AFK (Away From Keyboard) because her turrets were enough to take out most mobs by the time their duration ran out. Her role might have been that of an off-field sub-DPS but she already did enough damage to match up to a well-invested 4-star main DPS- which is enough to handle the Genshin overworld. It was mainly only in Abyss that hardcore players had lots of complaints about her.

After Sumeru and Dendro’s release in Version 3.0, Electro as an element, in general, was buffed by Dendro’s reactions with Electro. Units like Keqing started competing with popular 5-star main DPS like Diluc. Yae Miko went from a good unit to a broken one with the addition of Dendro. She was dishing out numbers like an S-Tier main DPS with her elemental skill and elemental burst alone. And the best part is she didn’t have to be on-field for more than a few seconds to do it.

This allowed players to add another powerful Electro or Dendro unit for Aggravate or Spread damage in Quicken teams. While Yae Miko’s potential in Quicken was immediately recognised, her utility in Hyperbloom was slow to bloom. Her lightning strikes from her electro turrets all have a small AoE around them so if they hit enemies with Dendro cores near them, more often than not Yae Miko will trigger them to cause Hyperbloom.

Players were also quick to catch on about the one part of her kit that didn’t make sense before Dendro’s release. Her electro turrets from her E skill had an Elemental Mastery scaling aside from the usual ATK% scaling. This finally made sense with the introduction of Aggravate and Hyperbloom since Dendro reactions generally scale on EM.

In conclusion, her ability to dish out tons of damage and have consistent Electro application while being off-field allowed players to slot in other DPS units- thus doubling the damage of the team. So if you’re planning to pull for Yae Miko in the current first half of Version 3.7 then we wish you all the luck because she’s a great pull- both as a character and as a playable unit.
