One of the most interesting side missions in Where Winds Meet is Honor Among Thieves. In this mission, you will investigate a mysterious situation, gather clues and find out the truth about Zhang Qiang and his brother. Also in the course of completing this mission, you will be able to acquire the collectable known as Lingering Melody. This guide will tell you every step of the encounter, including both possible endings, so you won’t miss any rewards.
Honor Among Thieves Encounter
To start the Honor Among Thieves quest, fast travel to the waypoint called “Millennium Crossing” and go west along the path. You will be confronted by some wolves fighting in the area. Kill the wolves, and you should now be able to talk to Zhang Qiang, who can be found hiding up in a tree. If you can’t find this encounter, then change the time to Chen hour on the same day or next day.
Now, once the dialogue ends, fast travel to the waypoint “Meandering Bank” and talk to Kid. Now you will have to go back to Zhang Qiang and talk to him again. Now investigate the clues in the area. Then proceed along the bloody trail, which leads you to a cave. Kill the wolf inside the cave and then check on the body you see there. Now go to Zhang Qiang and tell him your findings. Now comes the part where the quest splits into two possible endings based on the dialogue choice you make.
First Ending
Select the first dialogue choice and then uncover the chest that is buried nearby. In it will be a letter and the Lingering Melody prize. After obtaining all these things, fast-forward the in-game timeline by two days. Afterwards, proceed with your game and make your way to Meandering Bank and listen to the conversation going on there.
Second Ending
If you decide to choose the second dialogue option, you will have to dig the chest and obtain the letter. Fast forward two days and go to Meandering Bank, where you will talk to Yinuo. Later, go back to the location where you first encountered Zhang Qiang and find his dead body. After that, you will be required to examine the tombstone now.
As for rewards, you will get the following no matter what ending you pick:

- 50x Hidden Mountain Tokens
- 15,000 Coins
- 22,500 Character XP/ 1,500 Stored XP
Honor Among Thieves Encounter Bug
Zhang Qiang will not climb down from the tree after the battle despite the fact that he is supposed to do so. Skipping two days in-game time will cause the quest to come to an end. In such a case, you should just restart the game. When you are trying to complete the quest while playing Reverse World, perhaps you could not interact with the tombstone since no prompt for interaction came up at all. This looks like a bug in Reverse World gameplay.
