In Mortal Shell 2, the Collector is a secret merchant only seen when you switch to nighttime mode in the game. The Collector is located at the Abandoned Outpost, but first, you need to acquire the Gloombound Flame and use it to bring night to the world. In this guide, we’ve covered everything you’ll need to unlock the Collector.
How to Unlock the Collector

To gain access to the Collector, you need to first collect the Gloombound Flame from the Widow’s Overlook Beacon, and then head back to Marrow Keep and look for Thestus who can be found on the roof. Take the elevator up and place the Gloombound Flame inside the lantern nearby to summon Thestus.

You must give the Gloombound Flame to Thestus and ask him to call the night. This triggers the change in the world to the night mode, which is necessary for the Collector to appear.
Unlocking the Abandoned Outpost

From Marrow Keep, take the lift up and use the teleportation point to reach the Outskirts of Mammon. From the beacon, follow the path forward, taking a right and crossing the bridge towards the area with the large tree.
Continue going right to find another bridge on your left. Follow the path on your left and get up the wooden ramps to find the transversal gate. Go through it to reach the Deserted Slums. Go left and activate the beacon on the right to unlock the Abandoned Outpost.
Where to Find the Collector

From the Abandoned Outpost Beacon, you will need to continue a short distance south toward the nearby house. On the ground, near the stairs, you will come across a note which says the following:
“By the light of day, the truth remains sealed and yet in the darkness all shall be revealed.”
From there, climb the stairs and you will find the Collector at the candlelit table next to the house, where he will be selling his wares.

When you interact with him, you will have access to the trade menu from where you can see the Collector’s inventory. You may not easily find the Collector because of the absence of a map icon for him plus he does not appear during the daytime, which is why he can be easy to miss.
What Does the Collector Sell?
The Collector has several unique items in his inventory, including four ability Tarstones, a Tarforge upgrade material, the Blackmarrow Key, and Glimpse.
Glimpse
Glimpse is described as a ponderous whirl of color and light and lost reveries. Its important function is that it awakens a shell’s true purpose. The Collector has three Glimpse available.
Fulminant Stone
The Fulminant Stone is a sidearm ability that costs 60 Resolve to use. It fires a heavy-caliber round that causes multiple explosions around the target.
At its first tier, the attack creates three explosions. This increases to five at a higher tier, while the highest tier gives each explosion 20 Break damage.
Blackmarrow Key
The Blackmarrow Key is another item available from the Collector and is used to unlock the secret room.
Weeping Stone
The Weeping Stone costs 20 Resolve and infuses your sidearm with Trauma. The effect remains on your weapon rather than being limited to a single shot.
The first tier lasts for four shots, while the upgraded version lasts for eight shots.
Infused Stone
The Infused Stone is a melee weapon ability that costs 70 Resolve. It throws your weapon at multiple targets before returning to your hand.
At the first tier, each strike applies three Perforation stacks. The second tier allows the weapon to hit up to four separate targets, while the highest tier increases each strike to 150% damage.
Thoracium
Thoracium is a material used at the Tarforge to improve weapons. The Collector sells it for 5,000 coins per piece and has two available.
Infested Stone
The Infested Stone costs 60 Resolve and fires a projectile that sticks to an enemy before detonating.
Its first tier deals 100 damage with the explosion. At the second tier, the affected enemy draws the aggression of nearby enemies, allowing you to pull them toward a single target. At the highest tier, the explosion scatters three additional clinging projectiles.
Collector’s Limited Stock
Due to the limited stocks of the Collector, the majority of his products can be bought in quantities of only one. He does have three units of the Glimpse and two pieces of Thoracium, but almost all other products are actually present only in one unit.
As you will not have the chance to come back and buy all these products, make sure you know what you want in advance before making your purchase.
