Vehicles and tanks can be challenging to defeat in War Dogs, particularly when you do not have an idea about the right place to target them. Vehicles have varying vulnerable spots, and it would be a total waste of ammunition if you do not use the right weapon on them. How to Counter Tanks, Artillery & Vehicles
Whenever you come across any small armored vehicles in War Dogs, the simplest way to neutralize them is to shoot their tires. Shooting the tires of any armored vehicle involves two stages; when the tire is punctured, the speed of the armored vehicle gets reduced considerably. The tire will ultimately end up shooting the rims if you continue to fire at it, making the vehicle slow and easy to handle.
However, the number of shots fired depends on the gun being used by you. Alternatively, you could keep firing shots at the armored vehicle until it finally gets damaged, but this is not a very efficient method as it consumes a considerable amount of ammunition. Instead, it would be better if you could disable the vehicle.
How Tanks Get Destroyed
The destruction animation of the L2A6 and SPH-2 artillery tank differs. There are several key parts in these tanks that should be destroyed. They include the engine, tracks, and fuel line. It all depends on the place where the player hits the tank.
Destroying the Engine
To destroy the engine, one should attack the vehicle from behind. An RPG from behind will be enough to destroy the engine. Four grenades are able to destroy it as well as one C4 grenade. Moreover, one mortar shell that hits the tank from behind can destroy the engine. When the engine is destroyed, the tank stops moving; however, it is still able to shoot.
Destroying the Tracks
As for the tracks, one should hit them from the side. A shot at the front armor will not destroy the track; it will just damage the front armor. One RPG hit is enough to destroy the track. The same is for tank shells and mortar explosions; however, grenades require about three-four hits.
Destroying the Fuel Line
The fuel line can also get damaged. If it gets punctured, then fuel will leak from the tank and you can hear it. It is not easy to target the fuel line; however, targeting the rear area will also damage the fuel line. This will be helpful because if the enemy fixes its tank then it would have lost a lot of fuel already.
Destroying Secondary Tanks
If you are targeting another tank, then you should stay away from it as shooting an enemy tank at point-blank range will also damage your tank. If you are targeting another tank, then you should use five shots on its front part, four shots on its side, and two or three shots on its rear end. It is obvious that the rear end is the best area to target for destroying another tank.
Using the Stingray
There is another useful choice to make when facing tanks, which is the Stingray. The price for each of its shots will be about 5,000, which makes it rather expensive. Nevertheless, it is capable of destroying vehicles rather easily, as it is an unmanned flying vehicle that is able to strike at once. Just don’t try to aim and shoot at the front, since that does the least damage. Using this weapon, one can one-shot L2A6 and SPH-2, thus making it one of the simplest solutions against tanks.
