Can I Start War in Victoria 3- Explained
You can do it if you want to start a war in Victoria 3. Declaration of war seems complicated at first, but as you play more, things will become easier. To start a war, you need a valid reason. Like in the real world, players can’t start a war in Victoria 3 without any reason. The reason must be anything like conquering another state, taking control of the trade routes, or anything, but there must be a valid reason.
When you try to force something, it is called Diplomatic play. However, your diplomatic play can’t be randomly started. You have to declare clearly your interest to the world. Diplomatic play can only be started in those areas where you have a declared interest.
If you are interested in any outside country or area, you must point it out to the world beforehand. You must invest in that area and be a part of their politics to start a war. To declare your interest follow the below steps-
- Go to the bottom of your screen and click on Diplomacy Lens.
- Select Regional Actions
- Declare Interest.
The power you have determines how many interests you can declare. Also, you can’t start a Diplomatic play against those countries who are allies of your country. To do that, you have to change the interaction with the country from their page. Occasionally, you can expel diplomats to make things worse with the country. Once things are all set, and your interests are clearly declared, you can start diplomatic play. Go to the interaction tab of your enemy country and choose a play from the list.
Once everything is done, sometimes the conflict immediately starts. However, the initial conflict is not war but the Escalation Phase. Once the Diplomatic play timer ends, the war begins. During the war, your allies automatically join you. Also, other countries with the same interest join you.
That’s all you need to know about how to start a war in Victoria 3.
