Ulbert’s Storage Shed is one of the mini-quests you may take part in when you visit the Old Mine in Gothic 1 Remake. In this quest, you will be helping Ulbert to get back his key after helping him find one of the miners known as Aleph. It does not require much effort and no fighting, thus enabling you to grab some additional items quickly. While the quest doesn’t reward experience points, the contents of Ulbert’s storage chest can still make it worth your time.
Ulbert’s Storage Shed Quest
This quest starts by speaking with Ulbert at the Old Mine. He is found at the same level as Iben. During your first interaction with him, you must make sure to relax him slightly by giving him something to drink. Once you do so, he will tell you a few things and guide you accordingly.
Find Aleph
Now your task is to find Aleph, who has information about the location of the key. To find him, go back and travel on the same path you took to get here. On reaching the fork in the road, do not turn to the right but instead turn left. You will see a ladder and a tunnel opening in front of you.
Go down into the tunnel and then drop to the left after coming out onto the ground floor. Locate Aleph there and then talk to him about the key. He is not going to give you the key for free but will make you pay him first. Choosing the middle payment option is usually the best choice. After paying him, you’ll receive the key.
Return to Ulbert
Now that you have the key in your possession, go and talk to Ulbert and hand him the key. After he gets it, he will leave from there, thus providing you with access to the shed that belongs to him. Just wait until he leaves and goes out of sight, then take all items from the chest.
