You can start making hybrid crops in Spring, Year Two. You will be invited to Takakura’s home, where you will meet Vinnie. Vinnie is a giant three-headed plant that you can befriend. The more your relationship with Vinnie grows, the closer you get to unlocking the hybrid crops option. You will eventually be asked if you wish to fuse your seeds or crops, and you can choose yes.
Next, you need to hand over either two crops/fruits, or two seeds. You cannot fuse one crop/fruit with a seed, but you can give two different crops, two different seeds, or two unique fruits. Once the fusing process is done, Vinnie will hand over a bag of seeds. You can then plant it in your farm to get the new hybrid crop. Sometimes, the fusing process won’t succeed, so you will get the seeds of the original crop/fruit/seed that you gave over.
