You can start the Ornate Box quest after completing the Seat of the Sovran quest. Make your way to the Merchant’s Quarter area in Vernworth to find Sven arguing with one of the shopkeepers. Talk to them and Sven will tell you that he wants to buy an ornate box, but doesn’t have the money to do so. You have a choice to make here, where you can either give him the lump sum money to purchase the box, or purchase it yourself and hand it over. The outcome anyways remains the same, as Sven will have his ornate box at the end of the quest. But you need to figure out whether you wish to hand over the money or not.
The box costs 1000G to purchase, so if you have that kind of money and are okay parting with it, then hand over the money to Sven. He will buy the box and take his leave. You can meet up with him after a day near the Merchant Quarter’s fountain. Talk to him to receive your monetary compensation in parts. You would have to meet him a few times to retrieve all the money you gave him. Otherwise, you can refuse to pay Sven and purchase the box yourself, then hand it over. If you have completed the Medicament Predicament side quest, you can purchase the ornate box for 800G instead, saving you some gold
