By now, you would have the Dimension Claw unlocked and equipped, because you will need it on your quest. Now, make your way to the Night Temple in Upper City and make your way southwest towards the ground level. You will find a Statue Enemy patrolling the passage. Get close to it and use the Dimension Claw to capture it. After that, make your way to the Pit of Eternal Sands. You can find this location when you head south and slightly west from Sentinel’s Road. Keep exploring the passageway towards the west side till you find a large pit. If you step into this pit, two slabs will suddenly appear and crush you. 

What you must do here is release the Statue Enemy into the pit and watch it get crushed. Once it is done, make your way below to unlock the mystery chest.
