Coralum Ore is a crafting material that is obtained in the latter part of the game to create Coralum Ingots, for which players must reach Technology Level 62. Unlike regular Ores and Pure Quartz, Coralum Ore cannot be harvested from resource nodes. Nonetheless, it can be secured through various methods including ocean salvaging, as well as catching certain Pals. Read through this article to find out more about how to secure Coralum Ore in Palworld.

Before You Start Farming Coralum Ore

To start salvaging, you first need to acquire the Advanced Fishing Rod, which is unlocked at Technology Level 45. Additionally, the ability to craft the Powerful Fishing Magnet becomes available at Technology Level 62 to salvage debris from difficult regions and obtain more Coralum from the salvage.

To get to the salvage areas, make sure to summon a Pal that can move by swimming or surfing before entering the deep waters of the ocean.

Ways Farm Coralum Ore

There are three effective ways through which you can farm Coralum Ore efficiently in the game. Here’s a simple breakdown:

Magnet Salvage

The process of harvesting Coralum Ore involves the use of the Magnet Salvage technique. The most effective route for traveling is between Neptilius Island and the northern Sakurajima fast travel points, but the salvage may also be found by the coastline and open ocean. For best results in the harvesting process, it is recommended to use a Neptilius at maximum speed with any 4-star Jelroy, as its Partner Skill is important.

You will need to approach the salvage with your fishing rod equipped and play the fishing minigame, pressing the button when the indicator turns green. With salvage nodes found around the water, it should be pointed out that the yielding of Coralum can vary. Failing the minigame will not consume a fishing magnet or remove salvage points, so you can always try again.

Transport some items for a Straw Bed so you can spend the night on a close beach which makes finding salvage points easier without going back to your base. In case it is not possible to interact with a salvage point while being on a swimming mount, go back to land, call your mount again, and then swim back.

In a one-hour experiment involving 417 Magnets (made of Chromite and Hexalite) this technique yielded about 7000 Coralum Ore, 70 Pal Reversers, 750 Dog Coins, 350 Giant Souls, 380 Extra Large XP Scrolls, about 20 Applied Methodologies Books, one Depressor Rod Schematic, one Legendary Map etc. Despite the fact that it may take time to set it up, Magnet Salvage method is considered the best method as it has the potential of receiving legendary schematics.

Breed and Butcher Factory

Using the breeding and butchering method of Pal to obtain Coralum Ore is another way of farming it. The ideal combination needs to be set up with having Braloha with Philanthropist and Nocturnal passive skills, with the same setup on the Pals at the Breeding Farm. With the default settings being 15 Basic Pals, two incubators can be immediately installed on the two breeding farms utilized while at the same time utilizing three Butcher Belts for an increased speed of processing.

This method takes around three minutes in total for breeding and butchering the Pals, and yielded 346 Coralum Ore. Overall, the expected active speed in farming Coralum Ore via this method is approximately 7000 Coralum Ore per hour, but the actual rate might be lower because of breeding and incubation.

There is also the possibility of getting Coralum Ore from Whalaska by breeding a male and a female. After that, the offspring must be processed using Pal Disassembly Conveyor. You can also obtain Coralum Ore through Neptilius but breeding a Neptilius is more complicated. Moreover, Coralum can be obtained from breeding or hunting Whalaska Ignis at the World Tree.

Fishing Ponds

Fishing Ponds offer an alternative method of obtaining Coralum, but this method requires much more micromanagement, space, and Handywork Pals compared to the other methods. Suppose, if you include 14 Fishing Ponds and one Transporter, and frequent trips to the Cooler Box to collect loot, manage captured Pals, throw away unnecessary materials, and queue everything again.

Large Fishing Ponds become available at Technology Level 69 and can produce Coralum on an ongoing basis, although they require immense amounts of bait to do so, making them less efficient to Magnet Salvage.

In instances where Pals are not useful for specific reasons, slaughtering them is beneficial since it leads to the acquisition of other items like Alpha Pals, random food, and similar items. There’s also the fact that Fishing Ponds yield Applied Technique Books, gold from gems, Glowy Food, and various Pal materials, but their Coralum Ore output is relatively low, making them better suited for gathering miscellaneous resources than farming Coralum itself.

How to Craft Coralum Ingots

After gathering sufficient Coralum Ore, you will be able to unlock Coralum Ingots at Technology Level 62. You will require a Gigantic Furnace, which can be used at Technology Level 58, to craft the ingots. Each Coralum Ingot is made from using Coralum Ore and Coal.

Which Method Is Best?

Among the available methods, Magnet Salvage offers the highest overall Coralum Ore yield while also rewarding players with valuable items such as Dog Coins, Giant Souls, XP Scrolls, Applied Technique Books, and rare schematics.

The Breed and Butcher method delivers a similar active farming rate but is limited by breeding and incubation times. Since it can run alongside Magnet Salvage, the two methods complement each other well.

Fishing Ponds provide a variety of additional materials and resources but require the most micromanagement while producing the least Coralum Ore, making them the weakest choice if your primary goal is farming Coralum as efficiently as possible.
